Another Gujarati has been killed in America with the intention of robbery. Prayas Patel, 52, of Sojitra, Anand, was killed with intent to rob. A total of two people were killed in the incident.
The owner of 7-Eleven and a store employee were killed in a shooting at the Newport News Convenience Store. There was a robbery while they were working in the shop on Wednesday night.
According to Newport News Police Chief Steve Drew, a customer went to 7-Eleven just before 11:46 a.m. in the 1400 block of Killen Creek Parkway, he felt something was wrong and called 911.
Officers who arrived at the scene found two people in the store. Prayus Patel, 52, of York County, and Logan Edward Thomas, 35, of Newport News, were shot and fell on the store floor. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.
A 7-Eleven worker who visited the store on Thursday morning identified Patel as the store owner and Thomas as the employee. According to police officials, two people were killed with intent to rob the store.

“What we have right now is a person who enters and leaves the business,” Drew said. “If we identify this person, we will already have a warrant on file.”
In addition to store security footage, police are also collecting footage from strips of homes and nearby businesses and asking people for leads.
According to police, a man comes into the shop and comes out. We are also checking the surrounding CCTV footage.
